Warner Bros Discovery joins Content Americas speaker line-up as buyers pass 500, delegates hit 1,000 and 320 companies confirm for January event

Content Americas has confirmed Warner Bros Discovery (WBD)’s Lat Am programming chiefs Mariano Cesar and Pablo Zuccarino, who will discuss their content plans as part of a packed agenda in Miami.

The announcement comes as buyers pass the 500 mark, with the majority of key Lat Am content players set to attend the January event.

WBD’s Mariano Cesar, head of general entertainment content for Latin America and US Hispanic, and Pablo Zuccarino, VP and general manager for kids and family, Latin America, will discuss plans for the streaming strategy across WBD. We delve deeper into what they are looking for and the opportunities for the Lat Am and Hispanic business.

Cesar leads all the content and production teams across the extensive general entertainment brand’s portfolio in the region, including the development, production, acquisition and programming areas of streaming platforms Max and Discovery+ (in Brazil) and leading pay TV channels such as HBO, TNT, Space, Warner Channel, Cinemax, Discovery, Home & Health, ID and TLC. He started his professional career in the pay TV industry 30 years ago, leading brands that left a mark on the Lat Am audience such as Uniseries, Retro, I.Sat, Space and later TNT, TNT Series and Warner Channel. In 2021 he took over as programming and content strategy leader for HBO Max, and later he added responsibility for HBO’s premium channels and Discovery+.

Zuccarino leads all aspects of WBD’s kids’ brands in the region, including Cartoon Network, Discovery Kids, Cartoonito and Tooncast. He also oversees content production, programming, digital strategy, marketing, business and operations, reporting to Fernando Medin, president of WBD Lat Am. Known for his passion and deep knowledge of the children’s media landscape, Zuccarino has established his imprint on WBD by continually expanding its brands beyond linear, implementing a well-thought-out multiplatform strategy, developing new products and generating new business opportunities. Leaning into his cross-functional team of agile, multicultural experts, Zuccarino also directed the kids’ brands into the streaming world, creating the kids’ hub within WBD’s Max platform, which today brings together top franchises and shows and a broad portfolio of local content.

Kids content comes into focus at Content Americas in January

Kids content will come into focus at Content Americas, with a Hispanic Kids Programming Pitch, a Kids Content Futures session, a Kids Pavillion and a raft of children’s programme buyers and commissioners at the market.

The Content Americas Hispanic Kids Programming Pitch is open for entries, offering a US$20,000 marketing prize for the winner, with shortlisted projects showcased live to the international coproduction community at Content Americas.

Streamers out in force as Content Americas passes 400 confirmed buyers and majors back January event

Key Lat Am streamers including Amazon Prime Video, Google TV/YouTube, Apple TV+, Disney+/Star+, HBO Max, NBCUniversal/Telemundo Streaming Studios, Sony Pictures Television, Paramount+, Pluto TV, Clarovideo, Spotify, Samsung TV Plus, Globoplay, Vix and Mercado Play are confirmed for Content Americas as buyers pass 400 and delegates hit 750 for the January event.

Content Americas is set to take place in the refurbished Miami Downtown Hilton between Jan 23 and 25.

Content Americas Copro Pitch 2024 opens for entries

The Content Americas Copro Pitch 2024 is open for entries, offering a US$20,000 marketing prize for the winner, with shortlisted projects showcased live to the international community at Content Americas.

The pitch is open for scripted series and documentaries from the Lat Am and Hispanic programming business looking for international coproduction deals to take their projects global.

North American programming community in focus at Content Americas 2024

Content Americas 2024 will host the inaugural North American Hitmakers HOT100, an initiative designed to bring key US and Canadian programmers into the Miami mix in January. A raft of sessions designed to examine how these key executives are programming the future will be part of the conference agenda.


Inaugural Rose d’Or Latinos awards take place alongside Content Americas celebrating the best television from across the Hispanic world.

Content America 2024 will also host the inaugural Rose d’Or Latinos, a celebration of the best programming from across the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking world, and an extension of the heritage Rose d’Or awards brand. Entries will open in the summer.

Turkish Programming Spotlight at Content Americas builds international business

Content Americas will also host a Turkish Programming Spotlight, celebrating the best programming and partnerships from the region. There will be a series of cocktail parties and dinners that celebrate Turkish programming during the event, with all key programme suppliers exhibiting at Content Americas 2024.


The 100 leading players in the Hispanic market celebrated with the CV100 Reception at Content Americas 2024

The first CV100 Reception will take place during Content Americas, brining together 100 executives changing the face of Hispanic television at a reception during the event. This initiative has been running on Cveintiuno for a year and will conclude at Content Americas 2024.


Content Americas scored an 8.5/10 from the 1,600 delegates who attended the event in 2023, making it one of the highest-rated markets and conferences in the entertainment business.
